New Regional Projects
The Central Tablelands Regional Landcare Network (CTRLN) is excited to announce it has secured more than $850,000 through the NSW Government’s Landcare Enabling Program Phase 3 grants.
Announced by the NSW Minister for Agriculture and Regional NSW, the funding forms part of a statewide $10 million investment supporting Landcare projects focused on innovation, climate adaptation and culturally informed landscape management.
CTRLN successfully secured funding for two major regional projects:
Central Tablelands Innovation & Partnerships Program: Strengthening Regional Capability and Landscape Resilience
Funding: $408,593
This project will support a wide range of activities designed to strengthen Landcare capability and environmental outcomes across the region.
Regional projects include:
Native seed collection training delivered with TAFE NSW and regional experts
A Future-Ready Landscapes regional roadshow focused on Natural Capital, Climate Preparedness and Biosecurity
Growing Local Leaders leadership development program
Succession and governance training to support long-term sustainability of Landcare groups
The funding will also support locally led projects across the region, including:
Coordinated pest and weed management in the Capertee Valley
Communities of Practice and youth engagement activities through Watershed Landcare
Grazing and soil extension through Mid Lachlan Landcare’s Growing the Grazing Revolution program
Young farmer support and land management extension programs
Environmental upskilling and native research garden initiatives
Walan Miya Bulabul – Stronger Together in Partnership
Funding: $450,000
This project is a region-wide Aboriginal Partnerships program designed to strengthen respectful engagement and collaboration with Aboriginal communities across the Central Tablelands.
The project includes:
Development of a Regional Aboriginal Engagement Strategy and Implementation Plan
A Cultural Awareness and Immersion Program delivered with Aboriginal partners and Local Aboriginal Land Councils
Local Aboriginal engagement and partnership programs across Landcare networks
Aboriginal-led environmental and cultural projects including seed collection, river restoration, mentoring, youth engagement and cultural learning initiatives
Projects will be delivered in partnership with Aboriginal communities, Landcare volunteers, local Landcare groups, Local Land Services and regional stakeholders.
The projects will roll out over the next 12 months across the Central Tablelands region.
