Landcare in NSW Showcased in Parliament House
Landcare was celebrated at NSW Parliament House on 17 March during the Parliamentary Friends of Landcare Film Launch, attended by Members of Parliament, volunteers, and supporters — including The Hon. Steve Whan MP and The Hon. Penny Sharpe MLC.
Hosted by Minister Steve Whan, the evening opened with a Welcome to Country by Aunty Leanne King, followed by remarks from Steve Bunnell (Chair, Landcare NSW), Kate Lorimer‑Ward (CEO, Local Land Services), Jodie Lovell (NSW Landcare Enabling Program Manager), and Suzannah Cowley (Director, Nviro Media).
Guests also enjoyed a native foods demonstration by Landcare NSW Ambassador Chef Mindy Woods, profiling ingredients from her own garden.
The premiere of Nviro Media’s films highlighted the impact of the NSW Landcare Enabling Program (2023 – 2027), sharing stories of restoration, sustainable agriculture, Aboriginal partnerships, and community resilience across the state.
