Weaving with Weeds

  • 40 Bells Road, Oakey Park 2790 (map)

Turn weeds into wonders! Come and learn to weave baskets or wreaths from invasive vines while helping protect local bushland in this hands-on outdoor workshop.

Event description:

Help protect our native bushland from invasive vines like Ivy and Honeysuckle by learning how to harvest these weeds and transform them into a basket or wreath to take home.

This hands-on workshop will teach you how to gather and prepare materials, and give you the skills to continue your weaving practice at home.

All participants will leave with a completed basket or wreath base. Light refreshments will be provided.

A creative and eco-friendly activity perfect for the school holidays that also supports local biodiversity.

This event is part of Central Tablelands Biodiversity Month.
