Trailblazing Regenerative Farming

  • Legacy House, Mudgee (map)

Join us for an inspiring and down-to-earth discussion with Kylie Woodham—a regenerative farmer, speaker, and mother whose journey spans continents and careers. An Australian now based in the Upper Hunter Valley, Kylie built Magners Farm in Ireland from the ground up, transforming 27 acres into an EU-certified organic farm known for its high-welfare, pasture-raised eggs, heritage pigs, cattle, and vegetables. Her commitment to soil health, sustainable practices, and local food production has made her a trailblazer in regenerative agriculture.

Kylie’s path to farming is as diverse as it is inspiring. Growing up on a mixed farm in Australia, she spent time riding racehorses in Japan, worked as a pedigree consultant for Australia’s premier thoroughbred auctioneers, and eventually became the Media Director for Coolmore Stud, travelling across Europe and the USA. In 2009, she transitioned from corporate life to hands-on farming, aligning her passion for sustainability with her role as a mother.

Kylie’s accomplishments include:

  • Winner of Ireland’s New Farmer of the Year in 2020

  • Speaker at global events such as the Oxford Real Farming Conference, Groundswell UK, Polyface Farm USA, and Grounded Australia

  • Leading a COVID-era business pivot to direct-to-consumer sales, ensuring food security and community connection

During this engaging talk, Kylie will share:

  • How she built a sustainable farm from just 10 hens to a thriving enterprise

  • The principles of regenerative farming and its impact on soil health and biodiversity

  • Her unique experiences in international agribusiness and media and how they shaped her farming philosophy

  • Insights on how farming can be both profitable and deeply connected to community and land stewardship

Whether you're a seasoned farmer, a backyard grower, or simply passionate about sustainable living, Kylie’s story is sure to resonate and inspire.
