Join Watershed Landcare for a two-day introductory biodynamics workshop with renowned educator Hamish Mackay (Biodynamics 2024). This practical and engaging course explores proven methods for building fertile, resilient soils and producing nutrient-dense food without synthetic chemicals.
Suitable for gardeners, farmers and Landcarers at any scale, the workshop demonstrates how biodynamic practices can improve soil structure, increase water-holding capacity, strengthen plant vitality and support carbon capture — helping create productive and climate-resilient landscapes.
Across two immersive days, participants will explore:
The principles and ethics of biodynamics and its origins
Soil fertility and the soil food web
Biodynamic preparations (BD500–BD508) and how they work
Practical approaches to composting, sprays and teas
Reading lunar and planetary rhythms for timing and risk management
Weed ecology, animal health considerations and on-farm planning
Stirring, vortex creation and effective application techniques
With over 40 years of experience, Hamish Mackay is a highly respected educator known for making biodynamics practical, accessible and effective.
The workshop will be held at LOWE Wines, a stunning biodynamic winery, market garden and farm near Mudgee.

The course includes morning tea and lunch on both days from Zin House, along with tea and coffee.
