Join Jill O’Grady, owner of RedGround Australia, as she shares her journey from a career in finance and biosecurity to cultivating some of Australia’s most sought-after truffles in the cool-climate highlands of Oberon, NSW. In this Mycology May presentation, Jill will delve into the science and passion behind truffle farming, the varieties grown at RedGround, and the challenges of growing a luxury crop in a changing climate. She’ll also explore how agritourism has become a vital part of RedGround’s story—offering immersive truffle hunts and gourmet experiences that not only educate and delight visitors, but also provide crucial income diversification for farmers facing climatic uncertainty.
