Join Central Tablelands Landcare and local horticulture expert Dhyan Blore for a practical workshop exploring how you can make your garden a more welcoming place for nature.

About the workshop
Even small changes in our gardens can create valuable habitat and help support local biodiversity.
During this practical session, Dhyan will explore the key components of a nature-enhancing garden and provide simple ideas that can be incorporated into gardens of all shapes and sizes.
The workshop will cover:
Creating habitat for birds and other wildlife
Selecting and positioning bird baths
Using rocks and other garden features to create habitat
Maintaining your garden throughout the seasons
Understanding when and how to water effectively
Effective mulching techniques
Practical ways to make your garden more welcoming for nature
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas for your own garden.
About Dhyan Blore
Dhyan is a Landscape Designer, Horticulturist, Ecologist and Sustainability Educator with more than 20 years' experience across horticulture, agriculture, farm forestry and landscaping.
Her experience spans botanic gardens, retail and wholesale plant nurseries, and the design and installation of rural and residential gardens.
Dhyan specialises in water-smart gardening and biodiversity conservation, helping communities make practical changes that support biodiversity while improving the sustainable use of resources.
Biodiversity Boosters
This workshop is part of Central Tablelands Landcare's Biodiversity Boosters workshop series, running throughout 2026–27.
The series will explore a range of practical topics designed to empower community members to increase biodiversity in their own patch – whether large or small.
An Introduction to Sustainable Gardening workshop will also be held in Orange from 10:30 am–12:00 pm on the same day, covering different topics. Participants are welcome to register for one or both workshops.
