Farm Walk & Real Talk - Natural Capital Explained

  • Tongbong Woolshed 1285 Tongbong Road Monivae, NSW, 2850 Australia (map)

Environmental markets and natural capital are becoming increasingly talked about across agriculture — but what do they actually mean for landholders on the ground?

Join Watershed Landcare for a practical, no-nonsense workshop designed to take the mystery out of natural capital and environmental markets. The day will begin with an informal session in the woolshed, unpacking the basics in plain language, before heading out onto the farm for a hands-on paddock walk exploring real examples of land condition, productivity and ecosystem health.

Together, we’ll look at dams, remnant bushland and pasture systems while discussing practical ways to improve landscape function and farm resilience. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and connecting the dots between what’s happening on your property and the opportunities available through emerging environmental markets.

Guest Speaker: Tamara Harris

Tamara Harris is a Natural Capital Advisor with Central Tablelands Local Land Services. Over the past two years, she has worked closely with landholders to navigate the rapidly evolving environmental markets space, helping producers understand both the opportunities and potential pitfalls associated with natural capital programs. Tamara brings a practical, honest approach focused on what actually works on the ground for farming businesses.
